It's Been a While...Now...What to Write?

Two years and twelve days ago I wrote a blog post about the Little Gym in Burlington. Since then, nothing! Zip. Zilch. Nada. I thought about shutting this blog down and starting a new one, but, I feel like this blog is sort of a scrapbook of ideas and memories. Thus, I've decided to keep it around and add to it.

So, where have I been? In the midst of  teaching, parenting, co-running a household, I have been selling Creative Memories products, participating in church council, etc. I have absolutely been busy! I did decide after much thought and prayer to stop selling Creative Memories. I love the product, but I just didn't have the time to do anything productive with it. I'm still teaching middle school and loving it. Every day is different and challenging, and I feel like I've learned so much about myself and what I am capable of.

Lee and I are also expecting our second child, due in January. We do not know yet if it is a boy or a girl, but we are excited either way. Nathanial is a super smart, super crazy four-year-old little boy. We have had a very fun and busy summer. It amazes me how fast they grow. I try to get several cozy hugs in a day because I know there will be a time when he will push away.

I'm starting my blog up again for one reason and one reason only: It's part of my vision. Let me back up a couple of weeks. A few weeks ago, I made a vision board. I've made one before, and aside from the Washington Capitals winning the Stanley Cup (which, let's face it, I have no ability to control), most of the visions on that board have become a reality in my life. I decided that it was time to create a new board, although instead of a board, I created scrapbook pages! Writing is one of the visions I have for myself, and I've finally come to the conclusion that writing even the most intricate lesson plans really does not replace the type of writing I want to create.

A few days ago, I became tempted by the idea of selling Mary Kay. Keep in mind, I have a weakness for direct sales. I do not know if it is the pie-in-the-sky success stories that these companies throw out there or just the adrenaline that comes with sales that intrigue me so. Regardless, if I chose to sell Mary Kay, it would be the fourth direct sales company for which I would have worked. Crazy, right? So instead of making a pros and cons list, or even talking it over with my husband, I went straight to my vision board. Did it fit or did it not fit? Would Mary Kay help me have more time with my family? Probably not. Would it help me keep my home organized and clean? I do think that a little extra cash could help me pay for someone to clean my home for me, but, it would not help me be more organized.  Would it help me have time to write? No. Would it help me reach a healthy weight? No. So, overall, it did not fit with my vision.

This blog, however, does fit with my vision. I'm not sure what all I plan on discussing in this blog. Depending on the day, I may write about parenting, teaching, running a household, who knows. I may even share short stories and poems on this blog. Only time will tell.

Peace.
